After hanging out at Coffee Cat we went to Maam Beb’s bakeshop, where we feasted on lechon, apple pie, and potato rolls among others. This was no ordinary meryenda. I knew I should have started dieting a month before DFAT.
I used to think that there was something seriously wrong if you didn’t like apple pie, until I met the Merisco sisters. They have nothing against apples but they wouldn’t eat anything with cinnamon in it. This really bothers me because how could you not like cinnamon and apples? I think it’s one of the best tandems in the food world, along with chocolate and strawberries.
I wasn’t that hungry but when I heard Ate Ria say apple pie I perked up and lined up for apple pie. The first bite had me sighing with pleasure as the buttery flaky crust crumbled in my mouth, giving way to the delicious filling of fresh apples and cinnamon.
