    UP LAE ‘08 passers

I’m posting this…well..because in the past I used to dream of entering UP’s law school. hehe. But reality crashed in and I found out I’m not brave and hardworking enough to enter their world. Anyway, here’s a list of the passers for this year. I was hoping I’d see a familiar name or two…but no. Nobody from UP Mindanao tried I guess.

UP Law Aptitude Examination (LAE) Results
The UP College of Law announces the names of LAE examinees who qualified for interview. The UP College of Law will admit for enrollment this AY 2008 – 2009 only 200 interviewees. Those who will qualify for enrollment shall be required to submit: a) Certificate of Graduation; b) Official Transcript of Records and c) Certificate of good standing for those who have previously enrolled or are enrolled in other law schools, before they are allowed to enroll.
(The official list, of course, is posted near the Office of the College Secretary, Malcolm Hall.)
    The list:

    Boracay!

    IMG_2000

Uh huh. Blog hopping again. This time I stumbled on a travel blog by Ivan Henares, winner of best travel blog for 2007. And, he’s giving away a SEAIR roundtrip ticket to Boracay! Wow oh wow. Just last night I was talking to Loi about how much fun I had there last summer. Is this fate or what?

So here I am, trying my hand out at this one. I want to go back to Boracay because:

    1. I want to take more pictures of the island ( I was too shy last time and too busy getting drunk)

    2. I didn’t get to strut around in a bikini ;)

    3. Some of my best cousins live there (I know, I’m so lucky…hehe.)

    4. I want to try my hand at parasailing. Last time I didn’t because my mom thought it was sooo expensive. hmph.

    5. Full moon sailing. One of the reasons why I won’t forget Boracay, ever.

There are more really. But that’s the top 5. Of course I’d jump at the chance at seeing my relatives again, especially the Tumaob side of the family. I don’t get to see them often now that we’re based here in Davao. And, just knowing that you can head back and spend days in Bora without your mom hovering over your every action is enough to make me beg for the ticket.lol.

    Aseya Bistro Oriental

Davao’s food scene is very much alive, last year alone countless food joints and strips took root in various areas of the city. From grilled to Spanish to fusion—Davao City has it, and the food can rival that of the other restaurants in other cities but with a slight difference: prices here are more affordable. The Davao Bloggers of course, are more than happy to taste and share to the world the food scene that Davao City has to offer.

For this leg of the Davao Food trip, Blogie brought us to Aseya Bistro Oriental, a charming little restaurant that offers a mix of Thai, Malaysian, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine.

For starters we all had the Aseya Salad (P 90), a mix of lettuce, bean sprouts, carrots, and other greens with a dressing made of peanut sauce, hoisin, and lots of sesame seeds. The sauce was absolutely delicious, a bit sweet and tangy at the same time. These food trips have really changed my mind about vegetable salads.

February is a busy month for UP Mindanao. No, change that. January to March is the busiest months in the university. Apart from the Centennial Festivities and UP Mindanao’s anniversary, these months are filled with student organized activities like the Dance Ensemble Concert. So readers, expect more entries about the various events here in UP!

For this entry let me introduce you to Kappa Epsilon’s Rockeumentary. Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and Sorority is one of the oldest organizations here in UP Mindanao, and is credited to bringing the party scene in UP Mindanao to new heights. Remember Sidepocket and MasKErade? Yep, this is the same group.

rocKEumentary, simply put is a night for amateur acoustic artists. If interested, just prepare 3 songs, and dedicate one to women or a girl of your choice, then call or text Llane at 09202784060.

Not a musician? Well, you can still party with the gang and listen to what the bands have to offer fo the night. rocKEumentary is on feb8 at rizal prom and show starts at 7pm. see yah!

Hayden Cristensen stars in SciFi movie Jumper

Another sci fi movie. wee! I’m not a big fan of science fiction (reminds me too much of Prof. Paluga’s discussions) but there are some movies who gets through, especially if the cast includes a hunk or two. lol. Jumper is an adaptation from a novel by Stephen Gould about people called Jumpers. Because of...

    Back off!

I am a big sucker for privacy. I let other people enter and tinker with my life, yes, but they can do so because I allow them to. There are only a few–my room mates, close friends, and colleagues.  It’s okay actually. But what I can’t take is when other people attempt to barge...

    She

She’s here. I was with her today, and she had the gall to act like nothing happened. I smiled, I talked, and went on like it was a normal conversation. But I don’t forget easily. Not the bruises. Not the tirades. Not the hurtful words. Those will stay forever, buried, but never to be...

Bamboo and the assuming everything else is equal rule…

A big part of my university life is the sorority I’m in and of course our male counterpart, the fraternity. I joined Pi Sigma – Pi Sigma Delta way back in my early years in up, and despite all the bad flak about fraternities, I’d like to believe that we’re different. One can actually...
