Hard to believe but the photos below were taken in Cagayan De Oro 3 weeks ago. It was a shock when I turned on the TV to watch the news and saw the damage done by the typhoon. It looked as if part of Cagayan and Iligan were rice fields, submerged in brown murky water. With thousands of people dead…a thousand more in evacuation centers and hundreds still missing. I’m used to watching news about typhoons hitting areas in Luzon, but in Mindanao? What the hell is happening?
