the pup with Calene

Yes. Leroy is big. He’s 4 months old now and weighs 19 kg as of yesterday. The vet says that at the rate he’s growing, his adult size will probably be around 60 to 75lbs. One big boy indeed, considering his dame was a terrier mix and just as big as him now. Those labrador genes sure are strong.

My friends love the pup a lot. They call him baby, buy him treats and gifts, offer to look after him, and the pup loves it. He thinks my friends are his personal treat and hug dispensers. Lol. The pup has a say in our choice of restaurants for our usual saturday night dinner too. I wanted to have dinner at Villa Cafe but they don’t allow dogs so off we were to Ayala Triangle instead.

It was Leroy’s first visit to Ayala Triangle and he loved it, specially the grass, something that we don’t see everyday. He was very well behaved too. We were busy eating and sharing stories (which lasted till about 1am) and the pup was either sleeping or watching the people walk by. I cant help but smile and feel relieved that I am doing okay with the pup, even if I lost my temper a lot with him- a big no no when dealing with 2 month old puppies. Potty training really tested my patience which I didn’t have a lot to begin with. I’m luckier than most people though because the pup’s pretty smart. Our neighbor’s yorkie who’s the same age as leroy still pees and poops inside the house. Eek.

We love Ayala Triangle. Not a lot of parks in Makati are dog friendly and I’m glad that this one is, and just a few blocks away from our place too.

But I can certainly pick which family members I’ll stay in touch with.

I have no time to deal with negative vibes. I’m miles away from Davao and yet they still manage to get to me.
