Day 4 with Leroy and I’m tired of being on puppy patrol. My fault of course. In 3 days I became frustrated, threw my own fits, and got mad at the puppy. It’s day 4 now and things are getting better. A change of attitude (from me), a very structured schedule for the puppy, and the realization that throwing a fit is not going to get me or the puppy anywhere is doing it’s magic. Haha. I’m so used to slamming my mouse and hitting something when frustrated that it’s kinda hard to undo it. I try now not to show my frustration with the puppy and boy, patience is definitely one of the hardest virtues to learn.
C. Millan said in one of his books that you don’t really get the dog that you want…but the one you need. And I’ve got to admit, I’m used to following impulses and taking the more convenient way out. Patience is hardly one of my virtues and Leroy is teaching me to be patient. It’s not easy but I’m in this for the long haul, I signed up and planned for this after all.
Things are going to get better. It should or else I’m gonna go crazy.
