Barefoot on Good Friday

Catholics walking barefoot as a form of penance

I had the chance to see how some of the devout Catholics spent Good Friday. I usually spend it at home, watching dvds or sleeping so this photowalk is definitely a first. :) It was my first time to see people walk barefoot as a form of penance or to fulfill a vow. I’m not sure where they started walking and where it would end. I’m thinking the last stop would probably be the church? I couldn’t imagine myself doing it though…
