I picked up an old copy of Preview, one I’ve perused countless times. Anne Curtis was on the cover, clad in a sexy pastel colored dress, oozing of class and sex appeal. Inside the magazine I saw more photographs of her and the magazine’s so called beauty must haves. The products on the page were all laid out like candy, asking and begging the reader to head to the nearest beauty bar for a sample of their concoctions.
On the other side of the rack was a month old copy of Inquirer and I realized it’s been a while since I bought a newspaper, that it’s been a while since I read about current events. I was about to reach for the paper when my hand veered and reached for the magazine instead.
That’s when I realized how shallow I’ve become.
