Joel: pating! pagtarong ug tabok, makulbaan ko pag ikaw ako kauban ba!

A few weeks ago…

Lyan: tia pataka lang ka ug tabok. pagnaligsan ka na kauban ta maulaw jud ko ba.

tiara: di ka maguol?

Lyan: dili. maulaw jud ko.

A few days ago:

Stev: tiara! tanaw pud oi! aresgada kaayo ka noh, nidiretso lang ka ug tabok!

Just this afternoon (through sms):

tiara: D! I almost got caught by a traffic aide near claveria!

D: nag-unsa na pud ka? pataka ug tabok?

tiara: uh…yep. pero i was on the pedestrian lane. kaya lang green pa ang light, and when i reached the other end the policeman was waiting for me.

tiara: (defensive mode) wasn’t my fault. this girl at the bank pissed me off. gisapot ko.

D: ngano la man ka nadakpan?

tiara: uh… hehe… i told him not now, gisapot ko. then i just walked by him real fast. hihihi.

D: tia when are you ever going to learn to obey the traffic rules?

* the traffic aide was probably baffled that I dared to hold up my hand in front of him and tell him ‘not now, gisapot ko’ rudely. That’s the only excuse I can think of why I didn’t get a ticket, a warning, or something. And as for the last question… well, probably never. nyahaha. Just kidding. I’m trying, really.
